Copper Component Blog Reveal

I was so excited to participate in this blog hop with a focal from Kristi Bowman Gruel !  Kristi sent out a challenge and allowed everyone to take part (no drawing names for this one!).  I loved the opportunity not only to see some of her work, but to be challenged with copper, a metal I don't create a lot with!

When the focal arrived...I looked at it for a few weeks!   I loved the swirl in the design!

To bring out the swirl, I decided to coil copper wire and include some glass beads from Bubby & McGurk.  I picked all polka dot style in a wide variety of colors!  They are all mismatched because I really wanted to bring color into this piece so I could wear it with anything.

You will notice the center of the coiled pieces are slightly bent...this is to curve it with the wrist!  I think it almost has a spider like look!  :)

Last, I added a patina look clasp and some czech glass near the focal.  To bring the coils together
at each end, I used some large link copper chain.

I hope you like what I created!  I can't wait to hop around
and see what each person made!  Click on the links below to hop with me!  :)

Thanks Kristi for organizing!!

  18. The variety of colors you used with the copper component totally give the bracelet a touch of whimsy. I'm a big fan of color but would never have considered using all those colors together with the copper. It really works! Thanks for reminding me to think outside of the box more often.
