5 Workouts Today!

I don't normally go to the gym...ok I never go to the gym but that is a different blog for a different day!  :)

However, today, I think I will get at least 5 workouts in for the stairs I will be running.  It's back to organizing!

Two out of these three shelves will hopefully be empty in the next few hours.  Everything on them, will be in a garage sale in the next couple of weeks.  This is only a portion of the longaberger I seem to be hoarding!  There are pottery and baskets on these shelves and about 15 tubs in the garage that I will unload...been selling over 15 years and I have quite the samples built up! It needs to go from upstairs to downstairs.

These 2 shelves will then holding my beading supplies and tools.  I probably have enough to fill just one shelf, so I have other craft supplies that may be organized here on the other side of the room
that you are not seeing in this picture.

The next picture is where I am going to set up my work area once everything is moved around.  My "desk" is in those boxes leaning up against wall.

The biggest reason I can get back to organizing and moving stuff all around is BECAUSE we have 1 less car in the garage now.  We have a 4 car garage and had 4 cars in it....the truck we sold this weekend, so now I can get stuff out of this room, down into the garage...I have space...

So, these are my "before" pictures...more to come!  What are you organizing today?

Studio Sublime Design Challenge!!

Sally Russik of Studio Sublime put out a challenge in January to get some of her new summer brights enameled beads and create them into a spring/summer design!!

I jumped right in and she sent me this beautiful Sodalite Blue focal with some lime green accent beads!

I wanted to pair it up with some more brights, so although the coloring is a little off, these are some bright pink pearled type beads and a bright silver chain.

I wanted to keep it soft and perfect for spring and summer so I added some wood natural colored beads mixed in with the blue and lime enameled beads.

I topped it off with a silk flower in the same color of blue as the focal to bring it all together!

I hope you like it and check out everyone else that took part in this challenge!  Thank you, Sally, for putting it all together!

The Dreaded Craft "Closet"

A few of my really good friends have actually seen this closet...now all my friends will get a glimpse of what is really inside....

I am spending about a week or two in here despite the 75 degree weather that has came to Omaha, NE...I mean there has to be more nice days, it's only March, right??

I want some work space and stuff in here just has to go....this is what I am starting with...I took a picture of both sides of the room...one side 15 years of longaberger selling (but this isn't all of it...it has overtaken the garage too) and the other side...lots of craft supplies.

I spent all day yesterday in here digging out...and things have to get messy before they can get organized and cleaned...so here is where I am at now...I needed a 10 minute break out of the room and decided I better start blogging!

So, there is going to be some BIG SALES!!  Lots of Longaberger, Lots of Crafts....and some Coach Purses you can't see back in the corner.

I'll hopefully be blogging about the sale the last week of March if I can get through everything.

Until then, wish me luck....I need it!!

Tornado Closet part 2...

Although the closet basically took me all day, I finally finished it by 8pm that night....and it was a good thing, because for the first time in February, that night, we were under a tornado watch!!  I must have some super powers I didn't know about....

The kids were so impressed, they kept walking in and out in and out and then wondered why I didn't also lay carpet in it...

This was the finished result...I took it up close so you really can't see the new "walkway", but it turned out great.

But here is a pile that did not go back in...today, I am going to spend some time sorting it for consignment sales, donations, and ebay....can you believe, some of my lego sets are on ebay for hundreds of dollars (yes, my investment is beginning to pay off...well it will if they sell...just means more jewelry supplies!).

Next week, I am going to tackle the biggest project yet that I think could take up to 2 weeks...it's the "bonus" room or an extra room built above our 4th car garage...and it has been a mess for the last 6 years.  It has stored my longaberger business, craft supplies, clothes, and much much more.  I plan to clear out and set up a jewelry/craft work space in there...

Lots of craft supplies will go into a new store, Kristi's Destash, and will include stamping up, creative memories, yarn, and lots lots more so stay tuned for that project!

Tornado Closet

I could be wrong, but I bet most of you have that area where you stash stuff and by stuff I mean:

wrapping paper, gift bags, gifts in general, or anything you just want to hide from your kids, your husband, or things you think you will use later!

The place that has built up and built up for me is the space under the stairs...

It is where we go if we hear tornado sirens...only this spring, there is no way we could fit 5 people in here...or better yet, if a tornado would really hit our home, we would get killed by all the flying stuff that is hanging out in the closet...

So....

Today, I dug it all out...braved spiders, bugs and anything else that choose that as their home because it has been ignored....

Here is what I started with (and you can't see how bad it is around the corner because it is too dark in there to get a decent picture....)

Here is what it looks like outside the closet...and this isn't all of it...not sure how it ever fit in there...

Legos anyone????

Guess I need to get back to work and figure out what to do with all this stuff...most of it is all new, in sealed boxes that I bought at that great sale price.  Better get the camera battery charged...this might be a job for ebay.

Gas Mask....not yet

My 2 boys (Jacob age 9 and Jonah age 7...soon to be 8) share a bedroom.  That makes for a messy room...but that also means they share a closet...double dose of junk all in one place...

So today, I clean the closet...I mean closets...well, ok, 1 closet but since they share it, I feel like I am cleaning 2 at the same time...here is what I started with today...

Lots if clothes, toys, shoe boxes, old backpacks, blankets, extra hangers, etc....

After 75 minutes, here is what I have accomplished, but there is still a few hours left to sort what I took out, put a few more things back in and just be done in general....which means, I need to organize some stuff from the bedroom, so it just moved into that....

But, I did come up with one simple idea...put those shoe boxes to work instead of getting more plastic containers...sure they don't look all uniform and neat, but I feel good about recycling and not buying into more plastic.  Yes, I just patted myself on the back!

Back to organizing I go!!
